Why are the Raccoons and Crows destroying my lawn?
The European Chafe Beetle is a new pest that was introduced to the lower mainland around 2001. It was first found in New Westminster and has been slowly moving west every year. Between the months of September and March the Chafer Beetle is in a juicy grub stage just below the surface of your lawn. These grubs make an excellent meal for predators like racoons, crows and skunks. Because the grubs have been feeding off of the roots of your grass, it makes it very easy for the animals to turn over your lawn.
